Lane, Ramp Closures for I-75 Construction in Gainesville Area Thru December 3

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts as a result of I-75 construction activities in the Gainesville (Alachua County) area through Sunday, December 3, 2017.

  • Nighttime double lane closures on Interstate 75 (South of State Road 121 to just south of State Road 222) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday for paving operations. Additionally, there will be ramp closures beginning Monday night. Monday through Wednesday nights, the northbound and southbound on and off ramps at Archer Road (State Road 24) will be closed. On Thursday, the southbound on and off ramps at Williston Road (State Road 121) will be closed, as will the northbound off ramp at Newberry Road (State Road 26). All ramp closures are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Hurricane Irma Continues Northward, Travel Remains Hazardous

Tropical Storm Irma, Continues to Slowly Weaken while moving through Southwestern Georgia…Hurricane Jose does Not Pose a Threat to Florida.

Windy conditions across the state with chances of heavy rainfall throughout the eastern and northern counties as Tropical Storm Irma moves North through the state.

Tropical Storm Irma has maximum sustained winds of 50mph. At 5pm EDT, Irma was located about 10 miles east of Albany, Georgia and about 150 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia and is moving north-northwest at 17 mph. A Storm Surge Warning is in effect for North of Fernandina Beach to South Santee River, and North of Clearwater Beach to Aucilla River. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for north of Altamaha Sound to South Santee River. Tropical Storm conditions continuing across North Florida into Georgia throughout the Night.

Elsewhere, at 5pm EDT, Hurricane Jose is a Category 2 hurricane and was located about 360 miles north-northeast of Grand Turk Island and is moving north at 12 mph with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph. It continues to weaken as it moves north. It is too early to tell if Jose will have any direct impact on Florida.

Lane, Ramp Closures for I-75 Construction in Northern Florida

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts as a result of I-75 construction and maintenance projects in northern Florida (Alachua, Columbia and Hamilton counties), through Saturday, July 29, 2017.

Alachua County:

  • Nighttime double lane closures from Marion County line to south of State Road 121 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday for paving.
  • Nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and daytime lane closures from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from south of Northwest 39th Avenue (Exit 390) to north of U.S. 441 (Exit 399) in Alachua for and bridge deck joint work. Additionally, there will be ramp closures Sunday through Thursday next week. The northbound off ramp at U.S. 441 will be closed Sunday night, the southbound on ramp at U.S. 441 will be closed Monday night, and the southbound on ramp at Northwest 39th Avenue will be closed Tuesday night. Additionally, the northbound on ramp at Northwest 39th Avenue will be closed Wednesday night, and the southbound off ramp at Northwest 39th Avenue will be closed Thursday night. All ramp closures are 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Columbia County:

  • Daytime lane closure from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at mile marker 429.4 northbound for work on the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project.

Hamilton County:

  • Possible shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the State line for palm tree delivery and landscaping.
  • Daytime lane closure from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday at mile markers 444.5 and 452.4 northbound for work on the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project.

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-75 construction in Northern Florida through Friday, June 30, 2017.

I-75 in Alachua County (Gainesville Area)

  • Nighttime double lane closures from Marion County line to south of State Road 121 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday for paving.
  • Nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday and daytime lane closures from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from south of Northwest 39th Avenue (Exit 390) to north of U.S. 441 (Exit 399) in Alachua for paving. Additionally, there will be ramp closures through Sunday next week. Sunday night will have southbound on and off ramp closures at Northwest 39th Avenue. The northbound on and off ramps at U.S. 441 will be closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. All ramp closures are 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-75 in Columbia County (Lake City Area)

  • Nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday from south of U.S. 90 (Exit 427) to north of Interstate 10 (Exit 435) for safety improvements.

I-75 traffic impacts in Hamilton County (White Springs Area)

  • Possible shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at the State line for palm tree delivery and landscaping.

I-75 in Suwannee County

  • Daytime lane closure from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at mile marker 440.7 northbound for work on the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project.

Ramp, Lane Closures for I-75 Construction in Northern Florida

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following I-75 construction impacts in Alachua, Columbia and Hamilton counties (Gainesville, Lake City and White Springs), through Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Alachua County (Gainesville area)

I-75 ramp closures at County Road 234 will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday nights:

Daytime lane closures from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday from south of Northwest 39th Avenue (Exit 390) to north of U.S. 441 (Exit 399) in Alachua for paving. Additionally, there will be ramp closures on the southbound on and off ramps at U.S. 441 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday and Tuesday nights.

Columbia County (lake City area)

Lane closures from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday from south of U.S. 90 (Exit 427) to north of Interstate 10 (Exit 435) for milling and paving operations.

Daytime shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday between mile markers 409 and 418, and from mile marker 429 to the Florida/Georgia line, as well as daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at mile marker 409 to install equipment for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project.

Hamilton County (White Springs area)

Possible shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the State line for palm tree delivery.

Daytime shoulder closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday between mile markers 409 and 418, and from mile marker 429 to the Florida/Georgia line, as well as daytime lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at mile marker 409 to install equipment for the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) project.

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following I-75 construction in the Gainesville area and Alachua County thru February 10, 2017.

  • Nighttime double lane closures on I-75 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on mainlines through Thursday and nighttime single lanes closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on the ramps Sunday through Thursday at CR 234 and Ii-75 northbound ramps for milling and paving work.
  • Daytime I-75 northbound and southbound ramp closures from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday at State Road 121 for milling and resurfacing of ramps.
  • Daytime I-75 lane closures from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and nighttime lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Thursday from south of Northwest 39th Avenue (Exit 390) to north of U.S. 441 (Exit 399) in Alachua for guardrail installation.
  • Daytime closure of I-75 emergency lane from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Thursday from north of Archer Road (State Road 24-Exit 384) to the Columbia County line to install equipment for the Intelligent Transportation Systems project.

I-75 Lane Closures in Gainesville Florida Area This Week

The Florida Department of Transportation is reporting the following lane closures on I-74 in the Gainesville area:

Up to two lanes closed nightly in each direction through Friday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. just north of Archer Road (Exit 384) for construction of the Celebration Pointe (Southwest 30th Avenue) overpass.

Daytime southbound lane closures and emergency lane closures through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from north of U.S. 441 to the Columbia County line for resurfacing.

Nighttime northbound lane closures through Thursday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. from south of Northwest 39th Avenue (Exit 390) to north of U.S. 441 (Exit 399) in Alachua for resurfacing. Also, daytime closures of the emergency lanes through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for median work.

New lane shifts at the Santa Fe River Bridge at the Alachua/Columbia County line for bridge work.

Daytime northbound lane closures of- the emergency lane north of Archer Road (State Road 24) to the Columbia County line to install fiber optic and pull boxes along the shoulders.
