Ramp and Lane Closures, Detours for I-75 Construction in Detroit

The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $3.6 million to make the following improvements at the I-75/M-10 interchange in Detroit. I-75 construction will require the following traffic impacts:

  • The northbound I-75 ramp to northbound M-10 will be closed starting this weekend to allow for reconstruction work. It is expected to reopen by fall.
  • The southbound I-75 ramp to southbound M-10 will be closed for repairs starting this weekend. It is expected to reopen in late May.
  • The northbound M-10 ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed this weekend only and then closed for repairs during the month of June.
  • M-85 (Fort Street) will have one lane open at a time over M-10 for repairs on other lanes. The size of this bridge will provide enough room for equipment while maintaining the open lane
  • The pedestrian bridge over M-10 near M-85 will be removed during the summer.

In addition to the I-75 construction closures listed above, M-10 will be closed this weekend between Jefferson Avenue and I-75, and reopened on at 5 a.m. on Monday, May 8.

DETOURS:

M-10 between I-75 and Jefferson Avenue

  • Northbound M-10 traffic will be detoured via Jefferson Avenue, northbound Rosa Parks Boulevard, northbound I-75, and westbound M-8 to northbound M-10.
  • Southbound M-10 traffic will be detoured to northbound I-75, then southbound I-375 to Jefferson Avenue.

I-75 RAMPS:

  • Northbound I-75 traffic heading for northbound M-10 will be detoured to westbound M-8 to northbound M-10.
  • Southbound I-75 traffic heading for southbound M-10 will be detoured to southbound I-375 to Jefferson Avenue.

SAFETY DETAILS:

Closing these lanes and ramps for I-75 construction will provide workers with safe, protected work zones and provide motorists with the safest route possible through the area.

Lane Closures, Traffic Shifts, Delays for I-75 Construction is Florida

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following I-75 construction will result in lane closures, traffic shifts, congestion and delays this week:

  • Wesley Chapel/San Antonio, FL – One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 anywhere from north of County Road 54 (Exit 279) to north of SR 52 (Exit 285) between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Friday night, April 28 and Sunday through Friday (April 30 – May 5) nights.
  • Brooksville, FL – One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 from south of SR 50 (Exit 301) to the Hernando/Sumter counties line between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (April 30 – May 4) nights.
  • Brooksville, FL – One lane of SR 50 (Cortez Boulevard) may be closed from I-75 up to a half mile in each direction between 6:30 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (April 30 – May 4) nights and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (May 1 – 5).

During some of the night closures, drivers can expect traffic shifts and delays between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on SR 50 in the I-75 interchange area as traffic may be reduced to one lane in each direction and both directions of traffic placed on the westbound lanes. This will result in two-way traffic on what normally is a two-lane westbound section of roadway.

In addition, all traffic entering and exiting I-75 may be limited to right turns only. This will mean drivers who normally would be making a left turn movement onto or off the ramps may have to go the opposite direction and make a U-Turn on SR 50 to go in their desired direction. Traffic congestion and delays are expected during the traffic shifts on SR 50 and on the I-75 exit ramps whenever traffic is in this temporary overnight alignment.
