The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports that all motorists traveling on southbound I-75 will have to detour off the interstate using SR 574/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard (Exit 260) on Wednesday, December 13 and Thursday, December 14, from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting.

During these closures, all southbound motorists will exit I-75 using Exit 260, travel through the intersection, and re-enter the interstate using the southbound I-75 entrance ramp.

Electronic message boards and advance warning signs will assist motorists traveling through the area.

Motorists should use caution while traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction workers.

These temporary closures are necessary for crews to perform overhead bridge work as part of the I-75 ramp configuration and interchange modifications from SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) to I-4 in Hillsborough County.

The $89.7 million project is converting the I-75 interchange at SR 574 (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) into a diverging diamond interchange and adding a two-lane collector-distributor roadway along the east side of northbound I-75.

Construction activities are expected to finish in 2025.
