Roaring Springs Splashes Into ZooTampa at Lowry Park

ZooTampa at Lowry Park kicks off the summer with a splash as it introduces its brand-new family water adventure, Roaring Springs presented by Pinch A Penny. Following the debut of a refreshed, contemporary identity featuring a new logo and revitalized vision, ZooTampa launched its most thrilling expansion to date with the opening of Roaring Springs.

Roaring Springs will allow guests of all ages to discover a hidden part of Florida full of unexpected adventure and thrills. Explorers will board a boat and gently drift along a crystal-clear spring surrounded by native landscape and wildlife. The journey takes a sudden turn when the elevation drops. Guests will feel a rush of adrenaline as they experience a 3-story splashdown. The less adventurous can also revel in a rip-roaring splash on Lookout Landing, the bridge overseeing the attraction.

Lane, Ramp Closures, Detours for I-75 Construction in Florida This Week

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts associated with I-75 construction and maintenance activities in Alachua, Columbia, Hamilton and Suwannee counties thru Friday, April 27, 2018:

Alachua County

  • Nighttime double lane closures from south of State Road 121 to just south of State Road 222 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday for milling and paving operations. There will also be nighttime northbound on and off ramp closures on Sunday night at Williston Road (State Road 121) from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Daytime lane closures 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for sign and guardrail installation.

Columbia County

  • Daytime lane closures 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday for work related to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).

Hamilton County

  • Daytime lane closures 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for work related to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).

Suwannee County

  • Daytime lane closures 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday for work related to the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).

Lane Closures on I-75 in Tampa Bay Area Next Week

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following traffic impacts on I-75 in the Tampa Bay area scheduled for next week.

  • Tampa – One lane may be closed and controlled by flagging operations on Sligh Avenue under the I-4/I-75 interchange area any time of the day Sunday through Saturday (February 11 – 17).
  • Brooksville – One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 from south of SR 50 (Exit 301) to the Hernando/Sumter counties line between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (February 11 – 15) nights.
  • Brooksville – One lane of US 98/SR 50 (Cortez Boulevard) may be closed from I-75 up to a half mile in each direction between 6:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (February 11 – 15) nights and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday (February 12 – 16).
  • Brooksville, FL – One lane may be closed with flaggers directing traffic on Croom Rital Road under I-75 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (February 12 – 16).

The Florida Department of Transportation reports the following I-75 construction and maintenance activities that will impact your travel in the Tampa bay area through Saturday, February 10, 2018:

  • Tampa – The westbound I-4 Exit 9 ramp onto northbound I-75 will be closed between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday (February 6 and 7) nights.
    DETOUR: Bear left at the ramp split to go south on I-75, use Exit 260 to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard/SR 574, turn left at the top of the ramp and go east on SR 574 over I-75, then turn left and enter northbound I-75.
  • Tampa – One to two lanes may be closed on northbound I-75 from I-4 (Exit 261) to the Tampa Bypass Canal (south of Fowler Avenue/Exit 265) between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday (February 4 – 7) nights.
  • Tampa – One lane may be closed and controlled by flagging operations on Sligh Avenue under the I-4/I-75 interchange area any time of the day Sunday through Saturday (February 4 – 10).
  • Brooksville – One lane may be closed in each direction of I-75 from south of SR 50 (Exit 301) to the Hernando/Sumter counties line between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday (February 4 – 8) nights.
