The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of weekend lane closures on Interstates 75/71 in Kenton County beginning Friday, November 6. KYTC maintenance crews will perform concrete patching repairs to improve the road condition.
This work will take place on I-71/75 southbound from northeast of the I-275 interchange (185 mile marker) to north of Donaldson Road (KY 236) (183.75 mile point), a distance of 1.25 miles.
Beginning at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, November 6, crews will block a single right lane of I-71/75 southbound in the project area. At 11:45 p.m., crews will block the right two lanes through the project area. On Saturday, November 7 at 10:00 a.m., the middle lane will reopen. The right lane will remain blocked 24/7 through Monday, November 9 at 5:00 a.m. to allow for the concrete repairs to cure. The I-71/75 southbound exit off-ramp to Donaldson Road is expected to remain open throughout this project.
Do NOT attempt to drive around barrels in place near the work zone. These are in place to allow the repairs to cure and to keep our crews safe while in the work zone.
Weather permitting, this maintenance project is expected to be completed Monday, November 9 at 5:00 a.m. KYTC will advise if additional time is needed for the repairs.
