The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that, as part of a bridge and pavement rehabilitation project, crews will initiate a full, weekend closure of northbound I-75 through the Lockland Split, (just north of Cincinnati in Arlington Heights) to undertake pavement repairs in preparing for resurfacing.

The full closure will allow work to be completed more quickly and efficiently, while providing for the safety of crews and motorists.ย

Project Schedule

Friday-Monday, May 15-18:

  • Full closure of northbound I-75, between Galbraith Road/S.R. 126 and Shepherd Lane, from 11:00 p.m. Friday, May 15, to 5:00 a.m. Monday, May 18.
  • The left lane of I-75 North will be closed just north of the Paddock Road entrance ramp beginning at 9:00 p.m., followed by a full closure of I-75 North at 11:00 p.m.ย
  • Traffic will be shifted to the S.R. 126/Ronald Reagan Highway exit (Exit 10C) and detoured by way of S.R. 126 East, I-71 North and I-275 West.ย
  • Entrance ramps from Galbraith Road and eastbound S.R. 126 to I-75 North, as well as from eastbound S.R. 126 to U.S. 42 (Reading Road), will be closed at 9:00 p.m.
  • All ramps will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, May 18.
  • All lanes on the I-75 mainline will be reopened by 6:00 a.m. Monday.

Project Overview

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating the bridge which carries northbound I-75 over Mill Creek, a railroad, Benson Street and Shepherd Avenue in the Arlington Heights, Reading, and Lockland areas.

The bridge rehabilitation will repair bending cracks occurring in the structural steel, zone paint under the expansion joints, and complete other minor repairs to the bridge. The project also includes resurfacing I-75 through the Lockland Split, between Galbraith Road and Shepherd Lane (Shepherd Avenue).

This $12.6 million project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of this year.
