The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that the reconstruction of I-75 between Needmore Road and Leo Street continues to make progress; however, an unexpected discovery of multiple areas where the pavement thickness is deeper than anticipated was found, and this will require additional, substantial work to complete the project.

Mitigation efforts have been explored and are being implemented where feasible, but the nature of the remaining work, much of which is weather-dependent, poses further challenges. Many critical tasks cannot be performed during the winter months, adding to the complexity of maintaining the schedule, and with the additional work, it has required a reassessment of our anticipated completion date to Summer 2027.

This reconstruction marks the first time this section of the roadway has been rebuilt down to the base since its original installation in the late 1950s. Decades of projects and repairs under the roadway need to be removed before constructing a new road to ensure the integrity and longevity of the project.
