The American Automobile Association (AAA) is predicting near-record travel for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday period. Motorists should leave early and allow plenty of time for travel.
As is customary with all major travel holidays, the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will work with contractors to reduce the size and impact of ongoing work zones across the state. However, that isn’t always possible in some work zones. Areas where you will likely encounter work zones include:
- I-75 in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Toledo
- I-70/71 in downtown Columbus
- I-70 in Zanesville
- Several projects in the Akron area
Drivers should plan ahead by checking ahead and use the I-75 Exit Guide to plan their trip.
Drivers are reminded to buckle up, obey the speed limit, drive sober, and drop the distractions. Doing these things will make the roads much safer for everyone.
