Southwest Florida is set to welcome one of the most beloved gas station brands in the United States—Buc-ee’s. Known for its clean restrooms, vast selection of snacks, and unique merchandise, Buc-ee’s has rapidly gained popularity across the country. The proposed location for this much-anticipated travel stop is located just off I-75, providing easy access for both local residents and weary travelers.
On May 27, Charlotte County commissioners approved several zoning amendments for a 653-acre development in Port Charlotte.
Located at the intersection of I-75 and Harborview Road (exit 167), the entire development will eventually include 3,959 residential units, 655,000 square feet of commercial space, 50,000 square feet of office space and 350 hotel rooms. Buc-ee’s will anchor the commercial section of the development.
As of now, the anticipated timeline for construction of the Buc-ee’s in Port Charlotte begins with final approvals and permits expected to wrap up in mid 2025. Following this, construction is projected to commence shortly thereafter, with a goal to complete the facility by the end of 2026. The timeline is contingent on various factors, including local zoning regulations, permitting processes, and the weather.
