I-75 Construction to Affect Multiple Ramps in Ohio

The following is work scheduled to occur on state highways within the Ohio Department of Transportation District 1, which includes the counties of Allen, Defiance, Hancock, Hardin, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Wyandot. The schedule of work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, work will take place during daytime hours.

ALLEN COUNTY

  • Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project. Work will occur on I-75 over Riley Creek in Allen County and on the county Road 15 bridge over Interstate 75 in Hancock County. The project is expected to be completed in late September.The project will have the following anticipated impacts to traffic:
    • Interstate 75 in both directions is restricted at times to one lane in each direction through the work zone. A maximum width restriction of 13 feet is in place during the lane restriction.
    • Variable speed limits are in place through the work zone. Electronic messages boards display the posted, legal speed limit, which will be reduced during construction operations and presence of workers in the area. The posted speed limit on the electronic boards is enforceable by law.
  • Interstate 75 ramp work
    The following Interstate 75 ramps will be affected by pavement repair:

    • Interstate 75 northbound exit ramp to state Route 696, Beaverdam, will remain open but will be restricted during pavement repair beginning the week of June 18. Work is expected to be completed within a week.
    • Interstate 75 southbound entrance ramp from state Route 696, Beaverdam, will close Friday, June 22 at 9 p.m. until Monday, June 25 at 6 a.m. Traffic detoured onto Interstate 75 northbound to Bentley Road back to Interstate 75 southbound.
    • Interstate 75 southbound entrance ramp at Bluelick Road, Lima, will close June 25 for approximately seven days for a joint repair project. Traffic will be detoured onto Interstate 75 northbound to Napoleon Road back to Interstate 75 southbound.
    • Interstate 75 northbound between state Route 81 and Napoleon Road will be restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair.

HANCOCK COUNTY

  • Interstate 75 between Bentley Road and state Route 103 will be restricted to one lane at times for a bridge repair project.
