The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of nightly lane closures on I-71/I-75 in Kenton County beginning Monday, September 28. Crews will be performing electrical work as part of the ongoing Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project.
This work will require a nightly northbound and southbound left lane closure from Kyles Lane (KY 1072) (188.52 mile point) to the Brent Spence Bridge (191.63 mile point), a distance of 3.11 miles. Both left lanes (northbound and southbound) will be blocked from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. All lanes will reopen by 5:00 a.m.
No lane closures associated with this portion of the project will be in place from Thursday, October 8 through Sunday, October 11 due to BLINK.
Weather permitting, this portion of the project is expected to be completed Friday, October 23. Project schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
About the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project
The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project is one of the nation’s most significant transportation transformations, spanning eight miles of I-71/75 in Kentucky and I-75 in Ohio. Construction will begin with the new companion bridge to the west of the Brent Spence Bridge and one mile of approach work in each state. In addition to the new bridge, the project will improve safety and reduce congestion by separating local and through travel; redesign ramp configurations throughout the corridor; and add new pedestrian and bicycle connections linking neighborhoods to jobs and transit.
