The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) reports that I-75 drivers traveling through Bibb County should prepare for overnight single-lane closures on I-75 southbound at the bridges over State Route 87 near Exit 171. Contractors will perform bridge maintenance and prepare for barrier wall construction during the October 23–26, 2026, work period.

Weather permitting, the announced overnight closures will begin at 9:00 p.m., with the affected lane reopening at 5:00 a.m. The work will take place on southbound I-75 where the interstate crosses SR 87.

Bridge Maintenance and Barrier Wall Preparation
According to GDOT, the lane restrictions will allow contractors to begin maintenance activities and prepare for barrier wall construction.
