Lane Closures on I-75 in Metro Atlanta, Expect Heavy Congestion

I-75 Georgia Road Construction | I-75 Exit Guide

Construction activities on the South Metro Express Lanes on Interstate 75 south of Atlanta continue this week. The contractor will be working on Interstate 75 southbound between Hudson Bridge Road and SR 20/SR 81. Weather permitting; work will be performed within 2 mile increments of installed lane closures.

Drivers are urged to slow down and proceed cautiously throughout these work zones.

Motorists should expect heavy congestion throughout the entire 12 mile work zone area. Alternate routes are available and should be considered.

Work will occur as follows:

  • I-75 Southbound
    • MP 223– 221; near Exit 224, Hudson Bridge Road; left lane closure Tuesday, August 23 through Wednesday, August 24 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. for barrier wall construction
    • MP 219 – 218; near Exit 218, SR 20/SR 81; left lane closure Tuesday, August 23 through Thursday, August 25 between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. for barrier wall construction

Motorists are advised to slow down and proceed with caution through this area; workers and heavy equipment will be in close proximity to the roadway.
