The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) reports that in order to construct a new alignment for eastbound U.S. 50/W. Sixth Street to southbound I-75 as part of the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project, crews will close the U.S. 50 eastbound exit ramp to I-75 South starting Sunday, September 27. To support this closure, which will be in place through early next year, the I-75 southbound traffic lanes from U.S. 50 to Third Street will be shifted to the right. Additionally, short-term lane closures will take place on eastbound U.S. 50 in advance of the closure for overhead signage installation.
Eastbound U.S. 50 Lane Closures
- Short-term lane closures will take place on U.S. 50 eastbound from State Avenue to I-75 for overhead signage installation on Saturday, September 26, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
- Traffic will be maintained with at least one lane at all times.
- All lanes are expected to reopen by 11:00 p.m. on September 26.
Eastbound U.S. 50 Ramp Closure to I-75 Southbound
- The U.S. 50 eastbound exit ramp to I-75 southbound will close for alignment construction in the evening on Sunday, September 27.
- Detour: Signage will direct traffic to continue to Fifth Street, to right on Race Street, then to Third Street to take the on ramp to I-75 South.
- The ramp will reopen in approximately four months.
I-75 Southbound Lane Shift from U.S. 50 to Third Street
- All lanes of traffic on I-75 southbound from U.S. 50 to Third Street will shift to the right in the evening on Sunday, September 27.
- Traffic will be maintained with all lanes.
- The lane shift will end in approximately four months.

The Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project is one of the nation’s most significant transportation transformations, spanning eight miles of I-71/75 in Kentucky and I-75 in Ohio.
