The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) reports the following I-75 road work impacting travelers in Southwest Florida. Motorists are reminded to wear safety belts and drive with caution, courtesy, common sense, and patience as they travel through work zones. Remember, speeding fines are doubled in work zones.
COLLIER COUNTY
I-75 at Pine Ridge Road (exit 107):
Interchange Improvements: FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 at Pine Ridge Road interchange. The interchange improvements include reconstruction of the Pine Ridge Road Interchange converting to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) design, reconstruction of the interchange on and off ramps, construction of pedestrian and bicycle accommodations through the interchange, installation of new signals at the ramps, and resurfacing of Pine Ridge Road through the project area.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.
Motorists are advised that traffic on Pine Ridge Road has shifted to the new Diverging Diamond configuration. Please use extra caution and pay close attention to signs and pavement markings.
- Crews will be working on paving, drainage installation, roadway work, pond excavation, and underground utilities.
- Motorists should anticipate lane closures on Pine Ridge Road during the nighttime/overnight hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and ramp closures from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Please use extra caution when driving through this area and expect delays.
- Crews will be working on clearing and grubbing and installing erosion control throughout the project area.
- Please use caution and watch for workers and construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway. The expected completion date is mid-2027.
I-75 (Alligator Alley) Resurfacing from Mile Marker 97 to Mile Marker 85:
Construction project: FDOT is resurfacing I-75 (Alligator Alley) from Mile Marker 97 (just east of the Alligator Alley West Toll Plaza) to Mile Marker 85 in Collier County. Improvements include resurfacing of the road, replacement of sections of guardrail, shoulder improvements, and new signing and pavement markings.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances.
- Crews will be working on striping and bridgework.
- Motorists should anticipate lane closures throughout the duration of construction.
- Crews are working close to the roadway. Please exercise caution in the work zone, obey the posted speed limits, and anticipate delays. The
expected completion date is summer 2026.
I-75 at S.R. 951 (Exit 101) Interchange Improvements:
FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 southbound on- and off-ramp connections and the northbound on-ramp connection to the mainline lanes at S.R. 951 (Exit 101). The northeast quadrant loop ramp will be connected to, and accessible only by, a direct flyover ramp from northbound Collier Boulevard starting south of the Davis Boulevard intersection. This singlelane flyover ramp will carry traffic over Beck Boulevard and a reconstructed I-75 southbound on-ramp. A single-lane flyover ramp extension will carry I-75 southbound traffic over Davis Boulevard to a new signalized intersection at Collier Boulevard and Business Circle North. This ramp will extend along the western side of Collier Boulevard.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.
Continuing through Thursday, July 2, motorists should expect the outside lane of southbound I-75 to be closed over S.R. 951/Collier Boulevard. This closure is for crews to construct the connection for the northbound I-75 loop ramp.
- Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures for southbound and northbound C.R. 951/Collier Boulevard during nighttime/overnight hours for crews to install temporary barrier wall, move equipment, deliver materials, and construct the overhead bridge work.
- Motorists should expect the outside right turn lane from southbound S.R. 951 to westbound S.R. 84/Davis Boulevard to be closed. Drivers can continue to turn right from the remaining open turn lane. This closure is needed for crews to begin work for the bridge foundation installation and will remain in place through job completion.
- Pedestrians should expect a sidewalk closure along S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) just west of S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard) and along S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard) between S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) and Business Circle North. Pedestrians may use S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) to Market Street to Business Circle South to access S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard).
- Motorists are advised that the S.R. 84 (Davis Boulevard) eastbound direct access ramp heading south to S.R. 951 (Collier Boulevard) is permanently closed. The eastbound to southbound right turn will be available at the intersection.
- Motorists should expect reduced lane widths for southbound Collier Boulevard between Business Circle North and Business Circle South.
- Please use caution and watch for workers and construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway. The expected completion date is end of 2026.
LEE COUNTY
I-75 at Daniels Parkway (Exit 131) Interchange Improvements:
FDOT is reconstructing the I-75 at Daniels Parkway interchange. The interchange improvements include reconstruction of the Daniels Parkway Interchange (Exit 131), converting it to a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) design, reconstruction of the I-75 ramps, construction of pedestrian and bicycle accommodations through the interchange, installation of new signals at the ramps, and resurfacing of Daniels Parkway through the project area.
The following activities are subject to change based on weather conditions and unforeseen underground conditions.
- Work will be limited during the week of Monday, June 29 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
- Motorists should anticipate lane closures on I-75 between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. and on Daniels Parkway between 7:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
- Crews are working on earthwork, underground drainage, and installing permanent lighting and sod.
- Crews are working on widening the southbound I-75 off-ramp and Daniels Parkway.
- Please note that the westbound lanes on Daniels Parkway are shifted slightly to the south, then back to the north. Traffic on the southbound I-75 off-ramp has also shifted to the east. Please pay attention to signs and pavement markings and drive with caution.
- Motorists are advised that the speed limit has been reduced in the project area. Please follow all posted signage.
- Pedestrian access has been shifted to the south side of Daniels Parkway. Please follow signs and proceed with caution in the work zone.
- Motorists should expect trucks and equipment to be moving materials throughout the project.
- Please use caution and watch for workers and construction vehicles entering and leaving the roadway. The expected completion date is summer 2028.
I-75 From South of Bonita Beach Road to North of Alico:
Construction project: NIGHTTIME LANE CLOSURE OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN UPDATED TO OCCUR SUNDAY NIGHTS THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHTS for resurfacing operations for I-75 northbound and southbound.
- Nighttime paving operations will continue to take place Sunday through Friday nights in the following places:
- Southbound inside travel lane of I-75 from the Terminal Ramp Overpass to south of the Alico Road overpass.
- Southbound outside travel lane of the Collector Distributor Road (CDS) from the Terminal Ramp Overpass through the off-ramp to Alico Road.
- Southbound off-ramp towards Corkscrew exit in order to excavate and repair the asphalt depression.
- Motorists should expect a mobile operation with shoulder closures to install ground-in rumble strips along the shoulders of the following:
- Collector Distributor Road northbound and southbound (CDN and CDS)
- The on/off ramps of the Alico Road interchange
- Portions of northbound and southbound I-75 from south of Corkscrew Road to Alico Road
- Motorists should expect nightly lane closures for crews to work on bridge joint rehabilitation on I-75 in the project limits.
- Southbound over Corkscrew Road
- Southbound over Alico Road
- Southbound over the Imperial River (Bonita Beach southbound exit)
- Northbound over Hicks Crossing
- Motorists should expect lane closures for crews to install roadway sensors for traffic monitoring at the following locations:
- Both northbound and southbound I-75 between mile markers 126โ127 (just before the Alico Road northbound off-ramp)
- Between mile markers 122โ123
- Motorists should expect lane closures for crews to work on overhead sign work for Exit 128, just before the northbound Alico Road off-ramp
(coinciding with traffic monitoring sensor installation at MM 126โ127). - Motorists should expect shoulder closures for crews to install flexible delineators along shoulders at various locations throughout the project limits. Contractor will work from the shoulder adjacent to the travel lanes.
- Motorists should expect mobile operations for crews to install final thermoplastic pavement markings on mainline and gore areas throughout project limits.
- Daytime activities will include:
- Motorists should expect lane closures for crews to work on overhead sign work for Exit 128, just before the northbound Alico Road off-ramp
- Continued installation of signs
- Maintenance and pointing up I.T.S. items and Wrong Way Detection features
- Shoulder treatment and sod placement at various locations from Alico Road to the Lee/Collier County line
- Roadway Ride Testing โ Mobile Operation moving with the flow of traffic
- The current work schedule is subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
