The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) reports that work to the I-75 Rouge River bridge and I-75 over M-85 (Fort Street) bridge, along with ramp bridges will require 16 weekend closures, including this weekend and next weekend.
Southbound I-75 will be closed from Springwells to Schaefer roads starting at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 11, until 5:00 a.m. Monday, July 14. Lane closures will start east of the I-96/I-75 interchange. The posted detour will be southbound I-75, westbound I-96, westbound I-94 and southbound I-275 to I-75. M-85 (Fort Street) is available for local traffic as an alternate route.
The following weekend, crews will close northbound I-75 closure from Schaefer Road to I-96 starting at 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 18 until 5:00 a.m. July 21. The posted detour for northbound I-75 traffic coming from Monroe County will be to take northbound I-275, then eastbound I-94 to reach I-75 in Detroit. Local traffic may use M-85 (Fort Street) as an alternative, as well.
