The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KTC) reports that the winter storm’s exit yesterday plus daylight warmth has helped activate deicing agents mixed with salt to help crews make progress on primary routes critical for emergency response.
Crews had to make multiple passes on the same routes over and over before getting to bare pavement.
Moisture on the roads refroze last night so crews are still at it. More progress is expected on primary and secondary routes today.
KTC reminds motorists that less traffic equals more room for their snowfighters and first responders to work so please give them space on the road.
