The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) alerts motorists that the reconstruction of I-75 in Dayton between Needmore Road and Leo Street has begun operations to prepare for the next phase of construction.

As part of this progression, the contractor will conduct nightly lane closures this week on the northbound side of I-75 to begin moving barrier walls. The expected traffic shift will move the two remaining northbound lanes to the interior (left) portion of the interstate. This allows the contractor to begin work on the northbound exterior lanes.

The traffic shift is scheduled to take place on the night of Saturday, November 8. During this time, northbound traffic will be reduced to a single lane by using the contraflow lane. Also, the following entrance and exit ramps for I-75 Northbound will be closed: Keowee Street, Webster Street, SR 4/ SR 48 (Main Street), Stanley Avenue, Wagner-Ford Road, Needmore Road.

When the traffic shift is completed, the ramp from Wagner-Ford Road to I-75 Northbound will reopen.

Southbound traffic will remain in its current configuration with three travel lanes. The contraflow will continue to accommodate northbound traffic on the southbound side.

This new traffic flow will be maintained through 2026.

If your destination is not in the Dayton area, we encourage drivers to utilize the preferred alternative of I-675 to I-70.
