The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of rolling roadblocks on I-75 / I-71 in Kenton County beginning Monday, December 15. Traffic will be temporarily slowed in several locations to allow for utility work.

Crews will be relocating transmission lines near the 12th Street (KY 1120) (190.4 mile point) exit. Several rolling roadblocks, each lasting 15 minutes, will occur between 11:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Traffic on affected segments of I-71/75 and several ramps will be slowed/stopped to allow the work to proceed safely.

In addition, temporary delays may occur on the following on/off ramps during the rolling roadblocks.

  • Fifth Street (KY 8) exit ramps (Exit 191)
  • Kyles Lane (KY 1072) exit ramps (Exit 189)
  • Dixie Highway (U.S. 25) exit ramps (Exit 188)
  • Various exit ramps in Ohio to I-71/75 southbound

Law enforcement, KYTC and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) will be on-site to assist with traffic control. Motorists should expect delays, consider alternate routes, and avoid the area during the scheduled hours. Please adhere to posted signage. Do not pass crews blocking ramps during the rolling roadblock.

Weather permitting, this work is expected to be completed by 5:00 a.m. on Friday, December 19. KYTC will advise motorists if additional nights are needed for the work.
