The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, July 27, on the I-75 northbound rest area in Scott County between mile points 126.3 and 127.4.
The $6.8 million project includes widening the entrance ramp to expand truck parking, reconstructing the truck parking lot with concrete pavement, and upgrading high-mast lighting at the northbound rest area. The project also includes updating lighting at the southbound I-75 rest area.
The northbound rest area will remain open throughout construction with limited truck parking available. Additional truck parking is available approximately 16 miles north on I-75 at the Loveโs Travel Stop.
During certain phases of construction, the entrance ramp and portions of the rest area may be reduced to a single lane. Flagging operations may be used as needed to safely direct traffic through the work area.
The project is expected to be completed by November 30, 2026.
