The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that temporary closures of I-75 are scheduled Wednesday night, September 9, into the early morning hours of Thursday, September 10, to allow crews to perform bridge repair work at the KY 909 overpass.

The work will take place at the KY 909 bridge over I-75 near mile point 49.1 in Laurel County.

Northbound I-75

Beginning Wednesday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. all northbound lanes of I-75 will be closed to traffic at the KY 909 interchange.

Northbound motorists will be routed up the exit ramp, across KY 909 and back onto I-75 using the entrance ramp.

The northbound closure and detour are expected to remain in place until 11:00 p.m.

Southbound I-75

Work will shift to the southbound side beginning at midnight and continue until Thursday, September 10 at 4:00 a.m.

During this period, all southbound lanes of I-75 will be closed to traffic at the KY 909 interchange.

Southbound motorists will also be routed up the exit ramp, across KY 909 and back onto I-75 using the entrance ramp.

The closures are necessary to allow crews to safely perform repair work on the KY 909 bridge over Interstate 75.

Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays, use caution, reduce their speed and remain alert for changing traffic patterns, signage, equipment, road crews and other motorists while traveling through the work zone.

The date, time, and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
